How stop dog scratching the sofa?

Ask: How can I stop my dog scratching the sofa? I've tried the sprays, and placing a blanket on the seat, but it doesn't work. Is there any other way to stop her from scratching every seat she sits on?

Most dogs that are treated normally (spend most of their time with you) just have to be told not to and they stop. Is the dog left alone a lot or do they scratch the furniture when left alone?

Clipping her nails and disallowing her to sit on sofas.

Don't allow it on or near any furniture without constant supervision, contain it when you can't supervise, immediate correction when caught in the act.
