Kitten Meowing a lot?

I bought a 7 week old Tabby cat we named Tabitha and the first 3 days Tab has been meowing a lot and its driving my parents crazy.

I don't understand why she is meowing a lot but my parents are talking about making her a outside cat only cause of her meowing which is a ad idea mainly cause we have a lot of foxes and wolves that come around our property and like my last cat might get eaten.

She is a good cat, a littered box trained, playful, friendly, and she doesn't meow when someone is caring for her, so can anyone tell me the main reason why she could be meowing a lot. Please and thank you.

Answer

Cordelia:
She is probably meowing a lot because she misses her mother and her siblings and isn't used to her new environment.

Give her a chance to get used to being apart of your family and she should soon stop meowing so much (although she may not as some cats are just naturally vocal).

Also please don't let your parents make her an outdoor cat or she's going to get eaten by those foxes or wolves, especially since she is only a baby, and it's just not a good idea to have a cat outdoors on it's own anyways because there are many other dangers (cars, people, other cats, etc.)

I hope this helps and I hope your little Tabby girl settles into your home soon and stops meowing so much, but for now just make her feel safe and secure and love her and she should be fine.

Vanessa:
My kitten did that at first too. Its normal the kitten wants attention and so far the only war she puts the pieces together is if she meows she'll get attention.

She doesn't care if its good or bad.

What you have to do is ignore her while she is meowing at all costs, even tell her to stop is attention.

As soon as she quiets down pick her up and love on her. It will soon teach her that being quiet gets the attention she wants.

Sunny:
If you are providing her with the things she needs (food, water, toys, attention) then she may just be a vocal cat.

Berty:
leftmother too early.
