I have a kitten who is 4-5 weeks of age and need to know if it is safe to give him some regular cow milk?

Basically he doesn't actively seek out the teet of his mother (even though his siblings do, which is surprising seeing as he has lived this long) and he sleeps weird , like he lays on his sides with his legs completely outstretched.

Any way i was wondering if it would be safe to give him warm cow milk until he is old enough to eat regular cat food and drink water.

Update: I should update and say that can i give it to him until my next payday to where i can get some actual cat formula, should probably have asked if it would be safe to give cow milk until tomorrow.

Heather:
I rescued two 4 week old kittens and the vet said they were old enough not to need milk anymore. Just buy kitten food and wet it down with some water so it's soft enough to eat.

Cows milk will make them very sick! My kittens are now 4 months old and doing awesome, so it definitely works.

Pamela:
No, kittens do not tolerate cows milk, it gives them an upset stomach, there is special kitten formula that you can get, ask a vet or good pet store.

Narissa:
NO. Kittens are lactose intolerant and cows milk will give them horrible diarrhea, diarrhea in kittens is often fatal because they dehydrate so fast. Just mash up some cat food in hot water for him.

Carol:
Speaking as a vet i do not recommend it we have cats and kittens in who have been vomiting with upset stomachs most kittens who are rejecting mothers milk we put them on cimi cat which is just a milk substitute. sorry to hear about such a young kitten who's not feeding from its mother

Denise:
I would suggest a bit of cat food small amount of milk so the food softens and the kittens can eat it along with the milk (which they are used to).

Sara:
No, no, no. It doesn't contain the right nutrition. Pet stores and most Walmart stores sell kitten milk replacer. That's what he needs to be on.

Bette:
no vet has formula and bottle. i would encourage kitten by placing on teat. maybe others are crowding it out. if still not eating take to humane society they will feed it around the clock.
