Are theses rescue prices normal?

I'm looking at this breed specific rescue, but the prices seem abnormal, Most rescue prices I've seen range from $75-$400 dollars, These are $400-$800. A dog site I trust say rescues shouldn't charge that much and it may be a puppy mill disguised as a rescue organization. Is it true?

Update: This rescue is also strongly encouraging potential adopters to adopt a male rather than a female, citing that make dogs are easier tohousebeak, intelligent, and calmer. I'm skeptical.

I'm with a rescue, and I agree with those who have said that pushing males seems like they're a puppy mill. I can't think of why else they would do that. The cost is very high, too. $800 isn't too high as a maximum, but the $400 is suspicious as a minimum. Our rescue does $150-750 (the 750 is extremely rare, our actual cap is usually 450 or 500). People are reluctant to pay high prices since they can get dogs much cheaper at shelters. The prices at this rescue sound like they must be selling puppies.

None:
That is a lot for a rescue to charge. A French Bulldog rescue near me charges $350 for senior animals and up to $800 for young adults. I personally would never pay so much for an unpapered dog history. Heck, I can get a retired breeding female from a reputable breeder for about $700.

Look into some other rescues. You might even find some all breed rescues with the breed you want. Check to make sure they are licensed.
