There really is no set amount. Cats don't drink water like a dog, but its important they DO drink water. This is why I add some water to canned food. Feeding a cat all dry can lead to UTI problems, liver/kidney problems and overweight cats.
So to make sure they are getting enough, add a little to the canned food. IF the cat is drinking a lot of water it could be a sign of diabetes.

Cats are supposed to get most of their liquid intake from food, so a cat that eats dry food should drink more water than a cat eating wet food. Naturally, how much water a cat should drink will also vary by the percentage of moisture within the wet food. Thus, there is no way to answer this question without knowing what type of food the cat is consuming.

Let them drink as much as they need. However make sure to pay attention to the average amount they drink if they start drinking more it could be something serious like diabetes or kidney failure. Give them a bowl of water and they should be okay but if they need you too refill it as they drink it also be sure to keep it clean, this will help avoid mold or bacteria that could harm them.
