FancyNan: It may be a food allergy (read the ingredient label), the cat eats too fast, it is eating "junk" off the floor or outside or it has a bowel blockage. I had a cat once that could not tolerate dry food without barfing. Had one that swallowed so much hair that I had to dose him with a laxative every week.
I had one that would eat leaves every time he went outside (he has a cattery) and promptly throw up every time he comes in. Had one that ate so fast , when I was away for a few hours, that he basically bounced the food right back up. First off, check with a vet for medical problems, and then look at food and feeding changes. Oh, and make sure to get him checked for worms.
