Answer
LakeLady:
You COULD have gotten her spayed then anyway. It's called a gravid spay, but now it's too late and you'd be best off letting her keep them til weaning otherwise you'll have to go through all the maternal grief and loss and it's not pretty.
Then sell the pups for a nominal fee (to prevent them being bait dogs) and get your female spayed. If you had kept her under control then this wouldn't be happening to her. You owe her this.
Narissa:
I would say this is payback for being irresponsible, but it's the
puppies that are going to suffer. Find a rescue that will take mom and
pups I guess, maybe she'll get a better home and the pups will too.
Zoe:
abortion
isn't an answer. You can have her puppies at home or take her to a vet.
Selling them is the best option.
Please, don't take them to the shelter
because hundreds of dogs and puppies gets euthanized each day. Also, be
very careful who you give your puppies to because there are sick and
cruel people out there who would breed them over and over and abuse
them. I wish you both the best!
Rachael:
Either
drop your pregnant dog off at a shelter or raise the puppies for as
long as you legally have to and put an add up on craigslist for free
puppies. Drowning dogs is now illegal and aborting puppies will be both
costly and immoral.
Liv:
My
dog did the same thing but a different situation. We were told she was
spayed. Just let them nurse off of her until they are weaned.
We dropped
all 9, except one (grandma took it) at the local animal shelter. They
usually say puppies go fast. Call ahead though and ask.
Star-Of-Darkness:
Take
the dog to a vet, have a gravid spay done. It can be done up to the
birth moment. Since you care nothing for the dog once its spayed
surrender it.
Shelters will just kill the dog if its pregnant since they
dont have room for the puppies and even if they did, parvo and other
deadly infections will kill them.
Ray:
Take care of them until they can be away from their mother. Ask family
and friends if they would like to adopt. Also call a rescue and see if
they know people looking for a puppy. Or go on a website to post your
litter. Good luck.
