CCTV shows the dog lying on the lawn of the Himalayan Garden Wedding Palace in Dehradun, north India. As the oblivious pet lies sleeping, the beast can be seen stalking quietly across the grass towards it. Just before the tiger leaps, the dog wakes up and can be heard screaming in fear.
Unfortunately, despite putting up a fight, the dog is no match for the big cat who is at least twice his size. The hound is quickly overpowered and carried off by the huge beast.
Mahid Imran Jitu said: "They could fit CCTV camera but they could not fence it properly. This is not the face of that place but the face of entire India."
Another commenter said: "Poor dog smelled and heard the tiger's breathing and knew right away but it was too late.
"I hate that some countries treat stray dogs as pests that the dogs have to sleep on the street away from buildings and ppl's houses."
